My kids love to play. Like all other kids. If you ask them to do homework, you get a list of all the things they have to do first.
- Mom, I am hungry.
- Mom, I want water.
- Mom, I have to go to the bathroom.
- Mom, Daddy is calling me.
- so much so, that I sometime they say Mom, I know everything, I don't need to study.
and on and on and on...there is always something else that comes before homework or studying. I am not a Tiger mom but sometimes I feel like one. So keeping that in mind, I decided to put together some scavenger hunts for my kids to do around the house.
Honestly, in the beginning I thought they'd say "Oh! that's boring", but they were excited about the idea of running around in the backyard. So first, I made them gather stuff around in the garden. I was happy to see them occupied and for my son I made him put tally marks, I snuck in a math lesson. He didn't even realize he was actually studying. He just learned the concept and quickly got the hang of it.
My kids made me print another one when they were going for a hike, and then asked me to make more. I made another one, and there is already demand for one for the garage. I am going to sneak in some more math lessons...muh ha ha ha !!!
I wanted to share these with everyone since they are actually fun.
Hope you and your kids love them too.
